CD9 – Compilation - 3rd October 2002

By 2002, I realised I had made 8 full CD’s of music in just a few years, some of it better than others. I was also starting to get more into making shorter, more catchy pieces, rather than the really long and drawn-out complicated pieces. So I decided to create a CD crammed full of short pieces made from some of my favourite moments from the 8 CD’s, plus a few new tracks that hadn’t appeared on any of the CD’s.

16 Dreamy Swirly Fields 4Parts 1-3 of Dreamy Swirly Fields appeared on the Beautiful Strange CD in 2000, but I created this 4th track about a year later (I think). You can hear that it’s a shorter, more concise version of a similar theme that appears in the second half of part 2. However, can you also hear a definite similarity between this and England in the Sunshine? This is no coincidence, it really was like a follow-on from this and could easily have been called Dreamy Swirly Fields 5 instead.
